| Facilities |
There is ample reasonably
priced car parking, a shop with souvenirs and basic bike stuff, a bike wash
(50p), toilets, and a café with some seriously large portions. All their
trails have little maps and leaflets available for them and are well posted. |

7 and a half miles
of some of the best terrain the UK has to offer. The climbs are a test of
both endurance and technique; most aren't too steep but some are covered
in loose rock needing skills and a good choice of line. The descents are
mostly completely man made, technical and rocky affairs full of fun. The
trail is, happily, mostly single track or wide trail with not too much fire
road. The beauty of this trail is that it is fun and challenging for almost
all levels and types of mountain biker, the downhills are excellent and
technical to push a even seasoned downhiller but an inexperienced rider
could fight his or her way through perfectly safely. An XC rider would enjoy
the single track and technical climbs and even beginners would have fun
as long as there not too proud to push, I took my Dad round with me on both
my rides, he had a great time and this was his first off road mission ever.
This trails highlights include an amazingly fast mile(ish) of downhill fireroad
(think, Repak) the REALY long tech and medium-tech down hills, the views
and the elated feeling at the top of some of those tech climbs.
WARNING - There's a pretty big and unavoidable water crossing, watch out
nothing important gets wet and try to hit it with enough speed so you don't
have to pedal through and get very wet feet. |

Duel Track |
This is a pretty
poor track overall, the berms are small, rocky and rough, the jumps are
small, badly shaped and there's only one on each strait. There are some
good bits though, the first double is big but rounded enough for even the
most nervous jumper (ie. me) just watch the corner just after, a few of
the other smaller jumps are worth a play too but nothing special. |

"Fun" Trail |
Roughly following
the first half of the Red Bull but sticking to the fireroads this trail
is suitable for all members of the family. |

Hello to all the
great people I met there. Thanks to the man with the beard, the pump, the
son and the Polos for helping with my tyre. The guys we met up with on our
first time round, especially the guy who pushed up the hills with my dad.
Hello to the local guys I met on the duel track on Thursday especially the
girl on the Giant, my sisters still sulking, lol! |
