Crank Trouble. Preventing bust cranks: Keeping
the bolts nice and tight can help prevent most of the problems. Using large DH
pedals on low quality and cheap XC cranks can put unusual forces on the cranks
and cause the square hole at the base of the crank to warp and become rounded
this means new cranks. This also can be prevented by plumbing pipe sealer tape,
a white tape found in all good plumbing stores (and some really crap one too).
Put the tape on the Bottom bracket where it joins the crank.
